Mayweather said Logan Paul would receive his salary
Floyd Mayweather has responded to Logan Paul’s claims of not getting paid.
Mayweather explained that money from pay-per-views doesn’t flow into boxers’ pockets right away. It could even take years.
“Money on the back end though, from pay-per-view, it takes a while. Nothing comes right away. I’m still collecting checks from fights seven or eight years ago,” Mayweather said. on “The Pivot Pocast”.
“They just hate when the table is turned. Be happy with the biggest salary you have ever received in your life.
Mayweather, who retired 50-0, took Paul, a YouTuber-turned-boxer, to an exhibition match in June 2021. There were no judges or official results, but it was clear Mayweather was dominant throughout the fight.
But fans were impressed that Paul was able to hold off the legendary boxer for all eight rounds.
The match, which took place in Miami Gardens, Florida, sold over one million PPV buys. It is not known how many ticket sales there were.
Paul should have received $20 million from the fight while Mayweather could have earned between $50 and $100 million.
Mayweather was recently hit with a fight-related lawsuit from Paul.
A California real estate investor has filed a breach of contract lawsuit against Mayweather and his manager Al Haymon for failing to reimburse investors after convincing them to spend more than $1.4 million on tickets to resell later for a profit .
Mayweather has not publicly commented on this report.
