Each year, the California Medical Association (CMA) honors inspiring member physicians at its annual House of Delegates in October. The CMA is now accepting nominations for the following awards for 2022:

AWARDS FOR COMPASSIONATE SERVICE 2022
This award best illustrates the association’s commitment to community and charitable care.

Eligibility for nomination: Active physicians or physician organizations that have a demonstrated history of providing charitable care or giving care to communities in the State of California. The selection process will focus heavily on services given by doctors or organizations to the indigent or on services rendered to charitable groups. The winner receives a $1,000 stipend and a plaque of recognition.

2022 DEV A. GNANADEV MEMBERS AWARD
This award demonstrates a special or unique effort toward member recruitment resulting in membership growth in their region over the past year. The winner receives a $1,000 stipend and a plaque of recognition.

GARY NYE AWARD, MD, 2022
This award honors significant contributions to improving the health and well-being of physicians. The CMA Physician and Dentist Confidential Line Committee acts as the nominating committee for the House of Delegates. The winner receives a plaque of recognition.

FREDERICK KM PLESSNER MEMORIAL AWARD 2022
This award best exemplifies the practice and ethics of a rural practitioner.

Eligibility for nomination: Physicians currently in active practice or recently retired, that is, having retired from active practice for a period not exceeding three years. The selection process must take into consideration the services given by the doctor to the indigent or the services rendered to charitable groups. The winner receives a $1,000 stipend and a commemorative silver bowl.
