SoCal Companies Ranked Top Fortune Companies of 2022 – NBC Los Angeles
Several Southern California-based companies have been recognized by Fortune magazine in their 2022 list of the 100 Best Companies to Work For.
The top-ranked SoCal company was Tustin-based New American Funding, listed as the 18th best company to work for in the United States.
Founded in 2003 and today the largest mortgage company owned by women and Latinos in the United States, the company’s ranking is largely attributed to its culture and efforts to increase the diversity of the homeowner population. .
The company has offices in the United States, but its headquarters are in Orange County.
In order to support staff, the company’s president, Patty Arvielo, has set up a career development program where she offers advice to employees herself.
The building society also helps staff to buy their own house. During this process, the company waives origination fees and offers employees who work with licensed real estate agents lender credits.
Hoping to increase the number of black and brown homeowners in America, the company launched its New American Dream initiative which provides “homebuying education, credit accessibility and opportunity awareness.” in the mortgage industry to black communities”.
The initiative aims to lend $20 billion in new mortgages to black borrowers by 2028.
With more than 4,504 employees as of March 2022, 60.7% are women and 45.4% represent minorities, according to Fortune.
The company had 138 job openings as of that date, the magazine reports.
Other Southern California-based companies mentioned further down in Fortune’s 2022 rankings include: Experian (Costa Mesa), The Cheesecake Factory (Calabasas), First American Financial (Santa Ana) and the Panda Restaurant Group (Rosemead) and Scripps Health (San Diego.)
Several other California-based companies also made Fortune’s list of best companies to work for, including Salesforce and Cisco, both based in the Bay Area.
