Tyron Woodley pays and gets “I love Jake Paul” tattoo on middle finger
Tyron Woodley had an “I love Jake Paul” tattoo on his left middle finger, as part of the bet he and Paul agreed to before and after their boxing match last month. Woodley posted a photo of the tattoo on his Instagram account on Monday.
“I love you my son,” Woodley wrote. “Now come get that a … whip because I heard you were talking to your elders.” “
Paul told ESPN two weeks ago that Woodley got knocked out of the race to be Paul’s next opponent because he didn’t get a tattoo. Woodley was seeking a rematch, and following their August 29 fight – won by Paul by split decision – Paul said he would grant the rematch if Woodley got a tattoo. Woodley agreed and they shook his hand.
Woodley getting a tattoo now puts him back on the line for the rematch, Woodley manager Malki Kawa of First Round Management told ESPN.
The tattoo bet first appeared at a press conference in July. The two verbally agreed that the loser would get a tattoo somewhere on his body reading that they liked the winner. Paul even brought a tattoo artist into battle in order to make ink immediately after they both left the ring.
But after the fight, Paul’s team said they would only consider doing the rematch if Woodley got a tattoo. Woodley’s team wanted something firmer than that, so it didn’t happen immediately.
“If he got a tattoo right away, got 10 million views on his Instagram video, [then] everyone would have been super excited, there would have been a ton of press around it, ”Paul told ESPN two weeks ago. “And I would have been kind of forced to do it. I couldn’t really deny it then, because if he wants to be a man of my word, then I have to be a man of my word. So he screwed up. He missed out on another big paycheck because of his ego. “
Woodley, however, is now back in the game, especially with Paul in a public stalemate with potential opponent Tommy Fury, Tyson’s half-brother, whose video he posted last week. Paul said Fury, an undefeated boxer and reality TV celebrity in the UK, turned down two offers for the boxing match to take place, including one for $ 1 million.
“For everyone else, $ 1 million for a fight of this magnitude isn’t even worth getting out of bed,” Fury told Boxing Scene. “This fight is going to bring in millions and millions of pounds. I can’t walk the streets without nobody asking me, ‘When are you fighting Jake Paul’, then until you want to make a serious offer and put it on the table, we can’t think of fighting, buddy. “
With Woodley getting a tattoo and the negotiations with Fury not going well, this could open the door for Paul against Woodley 2. In an Instagram story, Paul mocked Woodley, writing that he didn’t get a tattoo. only after his accountant told him how much tax he owed on his combat purse.
